In October 2022, Dr Alain Kabundi joined the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Prior to that he was a Senior Economist at the Prospects Group in the Equitable Growth, Finance and Institutions (EFI) at the World Bank Group (WBG) in the vice presidency. Prior to joining the World Bank in 2018, he worked in the research department of the South African Reserve Bank on monetary policy, international macroeconomics, financial economics, and forecasting. Dr Kabundi was previously Professor of Economics at the University of Johannesburg and in that capacity he has published on a wide variety of topics within the Economics domain.
